Norco High was forced by the CIF's Southern Section to forfeit all of its wins this season, because it violated CIF bylaw 510 and competed with a player who was not eligible to play.
Bylaw 510 deals with the eligibility of transfers. According to SI's Tarek Fattal, an investigation was launched by the CIF after "a couple of allegations" were made. According to Fattal, it is not yet clear which rules were violated, however, he speculates that rules 202, which bars falsified transfer information and 510, which prohibits undue influence may have been at play. Families voiced surprised at the discovery of violations this late in the season, but Fattal notes that many violations have "emerged retroactively of late." The scandal at Norco is onlt rhe latest in a series of transfer scandals among CIF schools. It has left the football community wondering if other schools are following the CIF's requirements properly.
